I will be teaching CGS 2555 Introduction to the Internet during the summer of 2003. I also teach CGS 1060 Introduction to
Computer Concepts and CGS 1570 Microcomputer Applications - both scheduled for
the Fall semester.
I have a Masters in Computer & Information Science from the University of North Florida. I believe that you can lead a student to learning but the student has to do the learning. I test (relatively) hard and grade (relatively) easy. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. In the computer science area redundancy and backup are concepts repeatedly reinforced. As a result students are expected to have a plan A, Plan B and maybe even a plan C. Thus, the computer ate my disk, etc., are a fragile basis for missing a deadline. BE PREPARED and back up all of your work. The simple solution to an "A" in my class is read the text in advance of class, attend class, participate, practice - study sufficiently to prepare for quizzes and turn in all assignments on time. First rule of test taking - NEVER change and
ANSWER unless you are certain that you misread the question and absolutely know
the correct answer! | |||||||||
