Dear Student:
If you are considering taking English Composition II online, there are some things that you should know.
First, this is a writing intensive course. You will write as much, if not more, than you would in the typical face-to-face class because almost all of our communications will be through the written word.
Second, you do need some computer skills. I will expect for you to be able to email attachments, put an electronic notebook online and to complete library searches online.
Third, you should plan on spending at least six to eight hours a week on this course. Remember , you are learning much of this material by reading it online rather than attending class three times a week.
Finally, online courses are great alternatives for independent, self-motivated students, but they do require a great deal of motivation and discipline.
If this sounds great, I welcome you to the course. If any of these items sound too challenging , I suggest that you consider taking Comp II on one of our campuses.
Sincerely,
Professor Susan Slavicz
