What I must Do First! | ||||
|
It is the student's responsibility to provide the internship employer. In the event you are not successful, you should contact the Career Development Center for assistance. If you are currently employed in your chosen degree program, you may use your current employment upon agreement with your supervision. Then follow the steps below to begin your internship. Step 1 Contact the instructor or program manager one term prior to starting your internship to discuss and obtain a referral form. Step 2 Contact the Career Development Center (CDC) for an appointment with the Employment Specialist (if you do not have a job). Step 3 Prepare a resume accompanied by a generic (To Whom It May Concern) cover letter or [addressed to your current employer]. Step 4 Complete the necessary paperwork to begin the placement process. You must have a specific job in mind that parallels with your course of study. Finally......... Once your have registered and paid for the internship class, you must send an e-mail to your internship coordinator (Professor Janice Hall: jhall@fccj.org) acknowledging that you have read all information about the internship guidelines and responsibilities and have met with the: 1) instructor/program manager, 2) the employment specialist (if applicable) or 3) have contacted a potential employer for possible internship opportunities.
