HOW THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT This course uses a “hands-on” approach. Students’ knowledge is graded by the completion of projects along with Concepts Reviews in the form of multiple choice and identifying codes. Students are given projects that require writing new HTML codes as well as adding codes to existing web pages. There are no tests for this course! There are 12 projects. Projects are submitted every two weeks. Lecture notes are provided in the form of PowerPoint Slides. Additional external web links are provided to further assist students with the projects. Students should schedule their time wisely. The Bi-weekly Projects schedule is presented to the students in its entirety with due dates so that students can work ahead. Projects can be submitted prior to the due date. The submission links are set to open and close by a particular date. Once the link closes – you cannot submit the project – a grade of zero in entered into the grade book. With this in mind – late projects are not accepted – remember – you have two weeks! Your success in this course requires: discipline [stay on task], reading the textbook and PowerPoint slides, reviewing the sample web codes [more than once], posting questions so that you are provided assistance, checking and re-checking your codes prior to submission and submitting your projects on time. After you enter the Blackboard Virtual Classroom, one of the first things you should do is read the information under “each” menu. About 85% of questions typically asked, have already been answered within one of the menus. The Blackboard Classroom is loaded with helpful tips and techniques as well as instructions how to prepare your web pages for submission.
