You will need to do the following...

  1. Complete the Student's General Information Form 
    The Student's General Information page can be accessed by clicking on  the course underlined:  PHY1020C ONLINE or PHY2048CorPHY2053C ONLINE or  PHY2049C ONLINE . When you submit your general information, you will automatically be sending me (Dewberry) an e-mail. The submit may state that an error has been generated, this is usually not the case. To verify the submitted information has been received, send me an email  at  dewberry@fscj.edu . I will try to verify that your information has been received within 48 hours with an e-mail through Blackboard.

  2. Your access ID
    As soon as the online course is initialized (usually by 12am on the first day of class) and as soon as you have paid the tuition and been issued an ID and password by the college ( artemis@fscj.edu ), you can access the online course which is in Blackboard (the course management tool). If you have difficulty accessing the course contact me (Dewberry) by e-mail immediately and contact the helpdesk helpdesk@fscj,edu  ASAP. You will need an FSCJ e-mail account before you can log into Blackboard. You can obtain your e-mail account at artemis@fscj.edu .  With this account you can access your e-mail using  https://owa.fscj.edu  or the current updated address.

    (see class Syllabi when available).

    TEXTBOOKS You may want to purchase your text book:

    PHY1020C uses; Inquiry Into Physics, by Ostdiek and Bord, check bookstore for edition used, Brooks/Cole Thomson Learning Publishers. Fourth, fifth and later editions may all be used, check with Ms.Dewberry or current instructor for verification.

    PHY 2048C uses;Physics for Scientists and Engineers, by Serway and Jewett, 7th edition, ISBN 0-495-01312-9 OR Volume One (Chapters 1 - 22) ISBN 0-495-11243-7, check with the book store or your instruction for the current edition used. Brooks/Cole Thomson Publishers.

     PHY 2049C uses; Physics for Scientists  and Engineers. latest edition, Brooks/Cole Thomson  Publishers.

    STUDY GUIDE
    & STUDENTS SOLUTIONS MANUAL
    The study guides are not required but you may want to purchase them as reference materials  and they are used to study problems not turn-in:

  3. Access Course, EST
    You will be permitted access to the course on the first day of the term by midnight EST. The course is opened usually a few days before classes begin for you to view. When opened, an e-mail is sent to you through Blackboard and to your FSCJ e-mail. CHECK your FSCJ e-mail a few days before class.  After access is permitted, you need to go to your Internet Explorer and enter Blackboard via the Distant Learning Link (on left) in menu. Blackboard's sign in will appear, enter your user ID and password and click onto your physics course.

  4. WORK through the ONLINE Orientation starting  with the course link on this page.
    With your assigned ID and password gain access to the course and continue working through the online orientation as soon as  possible. A color printer may be useful since much of the course material is presented in color.
